Magazine Feedback
After printing out my second cut of the front cover, contents page and the double page spread for my magazine, I received feedback from my teacher.
Construction Criteria:
"Understanding of conventions of layout and page design ~ 'Make master-head stronger - otherwise eye catching front page.'"
"Appropriately integrating illustration and text ~ 'Readability front page good. Use pullout quotes on page 2 and 3 of double page spread.'"
"Framing shots ~ 'Good, well focussed, well framed.'"
"Selcting mise en scene (Colour, figure, lighting, props, setting) ~ No feedback."
"Manipulating images (Cropping, resizing etc) ~ 'Re-size double page spread to avoid clipping.'"
"Accurate use of language and register ~ 'Good appropriate language.'"
"Pages are clearly appropriate for magazine genre and readership ~ 'Contents page, lose white page. Page 5 - bottom - make this stronger - competition? Cover of Album?'"
"Awareness of need for variety in fonts and text size ~ 'Smaller font for editors letter - with box.'"
Overall, my current grade is between level 2 to 4. I will make corrections to my magazine, adding a few more images, change some of the text around, and going over what I have written.
